Covert Activity Training & RIPA Courses

All of our RIPA training is designed and delivered, in accordance with Legislation (including the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000, Human Rights Act 1998, ECHR and the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012) Codes of Practice, Home Office Guidance for Local Authorities and Magistrates Courts in England and Wales on the judicial approval process for RIPA and other relevant policies; by people who are occupationally competent and have many years operational experience in these areas. They are all currently involved in the delivery of training in these areas to:

RIPA Training for Authorising Officers (including Senior Responsible Officers and Authority Solicitors) Applicants and Gatekeepers in the Application, Authorisation and Use of Directed Surveillance and Covert Human Intelligence Sources (CHIS)

All of our quality training for Authorising Officers (including Senior Responsible Officers and Authority Solicitors) Applicants and Gatekeepers, in relation to  Directed Surveillance, is designed and delivered to meet your organisational needs, so we recommend, to ensure that quality learning takes place, including the completion of exercises to demonstrate learner competence, that training for RIPA Authorising Officers (including Senior Responsible Officers and Authority Solicitors) should be delivered over a minimum of three days and training for RIPA Applicants, Gatekeepers, and Central Authorities Bureaux personnel should be delivered over two days. However, as these courses are designed to meet your very specific organisational requirements, the length of these courses can be tailored to meet your individual training requirements.

Similar training for Authorising Officers, Controllers and Handlers, in relation to Covert Human Intelligence Sources, [CHIS] is also available and as these courses are also designed to meet your very specific organisational requirements, the length of these courses can also be tailored to meet your individual training requirements.

Local Authorities: Our training also addresses the two key changes that took place to RIPA on 1st November 2012, which have had a significant impact on Authorising Officers, Applicants and Gatekeepers in Local Authorities in relation to their Application, Authorisation and Use of Directed Surveillance and Covert Human Intelligence Sources. (CHIS)

Accreditation:
Our training for Authorising Offices, Applicants and Gatekeepers is offered as either "Accredited Units" of study with the "Open College Network”, (OCNWMR) which can be used towards the achievement of Level 2 or 3 ICF Awards or as "Stand Alone" courses.
